Bernard Teague
Justice Bernard Teague AO was the chair of the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry from February 2014 to August 2014.
He was also chair of the 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission from February 2009 to August 2010.
Justice Teague was a Supreme Court Judge from 1987 to 2008. During this period he chaired the Adult Parole Board and the Victorian Forensic Leave Panel — he was also a council member at the Institute of Forensic Mental Health.
Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Teague was a solicitor specialising in defamation and other civil law.
John Catford
Professor Emeritus John Catford was a member of the Hazelwood Mine Fire Board of Inquiry from February 2014 to August 2014.
He is currently the Executive Director, Academic and Medical, for the Epworth HealthCare Groupand a registered medical practitioner. He has been a Professor of Public Health for 30 years and has held senior academic and health service management positions in Australia and the UK, and with the World Health Organisation.
Professor Catford led the development of the Deakin Medical School which opened in Geelong in 2008. In 2011 he was appointed Vice President and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Deakin University. He is currently Chair of the Board of VicHealth and was previously the Chair of the Board of the Youth Support and Advocacy Service (YSAS).
Anita Roper
Mrs Anita Roper brings expertise in strategic, organisational and issues management with over 30 years of experience in senior management roles working with business, governments, communities and multi-lateral agencies in Australia and abroad.
Mrs Roper is an experienced director, with a strong background in sustainability. She is currently Director of Yarra Valley Water, Board member of the Fitzroy Football Club and member of the Victorian Public Sector Commission Advisory Board. Mrs Roper previously served as a non-executive director of Pacific-Hydro including Chair of the Board’s Health, Safety, Sustainability & People committee, member of AngloGold Ashanti’s Global Panel on Sustainability and Board member of the Women’s Network for a Sustainable Future (New York). Her executive career spans the private and public sector including Chief Executive Officer at Sustainability Victoria and Global Director of Sustainability with Alcoa (New York).
